Senior Legal Counsel

I am a senior legal counsel within the Legal Department of Virya. We advise and assist Virya and its subsidiaries on a wide range of topics, such as changes in legislation, legal advice, or contract drafting.

I went to University at the KULeuven and followed this up with an additional master's in International Commercial Law at the University of Dundee. After my studies, I joined a law firm and later became an in-house legal counsel for a Belgian dredging company. I joined Virya because of its values and the fact that it is a trailblazer in Belgium for the green energy transition.

The reasons why I joined Virya Energy are also the reasons why I love being a part of the team. The atmosphere amongst colleagues is positive and easy-going, whilst remaining professional. My colleagues are passionate about their work and our general objective as a company working toward the energy transition. On top of that, management is approachable and leads by example, thanks to our flat structure and great atmosphere. The company combines the advantages of a small firm (things go quickly, and the structure is not overly rigid), whilst having the support and means of a bigger company.
